Provincial Partnership: KZNDSAC & Prime Sports Development Trust
The Prime Sports Development Trust, through Sports Science Durban, is proud to partner with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (KZNDSAC) in delivering the Elite Athlete Development Programme (EADP) — a flagship initiative aimed at transforming high-performance sport in the province.
This partnership was established in 2014 to provide KwaZulu-Natal’s top athletes with access to world-class sports science, medical support, and high-performance training. The programme currently supports 115 athletes across 18 sporting codes, with an additional 13 athletes assisted pro bono by PrimeHP.
Key aspects of the partnership:
Federation-Nominated Athletes: Athletes are selected by their provincial sporting federations based on performance and potential.
Integrated Support: Services include conditioning, rehabilitation, performance testing, and coaching support.
Transformation & Development: The programme plays a vital role in developing talent from across the province, contributing to transformation and long-term sporting success.
Shared Vision: Aligned with KZNDSAC’s mission to build a “healthy, creative, winning and socially cohesive province through sport, arts and culture”.
Together, Prime and KZNDSAC are building a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive sporting environment that empowers athletes to reach their full potential — both locally and internationally.
