Provincial Partnership: KwaZulu-Natal Sports Confederation & EADP
The Prime Sports Development Trust, through Sports Science Durban, is proud to be the official administrator of the Elite Athlete Development Programme (EADP) — a pioneering initiative launched in partnership with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport and Recreation and supported by the KwaZulu-Natal Sports Confederation.
This programme was established to provide comprehensive sports science, high-performance training, and medical support to KwaZulu-Natal’s top athletes across 18 sporting codes. Each athlete is nominated by their respective provincial federation and receives tailored support to help them reach national and international levels of competition.
Key highlights of the partnership:
Provincial Impact: Over 115 athletes are currently supported through the EADP, with an additional 13 athletes assisted pro bono by Prime.
Multi-Sport Focus: The programme spans a wide range of disciplines including athletics, swimming, cycling, boxing, triathlon, and more.
Integrated Support: Athletes benefit from a holistic approach that includes physical conditioning, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance testing.
Transformation & Development: The EADP plays a vital role in developing talent from across the province, contributing to transformation and long-term sporting success.
This partnership reflects our shared commitment to building a stronger, more competitive sporting culture in KwaZulu-Natal — one that empowers athletes to thrive both locally and on the world stage.
